Around the world Elastics had been universally loved. Depending on where you come from you may also know it as French Skipping or Chinese Jump Rope. No matter what the name, many people who grew up with this great game will have some wonderful memories of hours of fun. At the mention of Elastics they will invariably react with an enthusiastic 'I used to LOVE that game! We'd play it for hours.'

 

We all have different memories of the rules and chants - if we have any memory of the these at all! What most remember though is the endless joy Elastics provided.

 

Today those same parents are rediscovering this fun with their children and enjoying a whole new dialogue around what Mum or Dad used to play when they were little. This is a wonderful opportunity to share stories with our children about our own growing up - stories they always love to hear.
